It was a very usual day in the office. There was nothing special happening in the morning. The pressure was, as usual, high because the financial year-end was approaching. I was feeling very tired that day and wanted to reach home as fast as possible.
As I was walking back home, I got a message:
"When the clock hits ten, Monetory opens its heart. Be in place."
I thought someone had sent this message by accident. But who was it?
At first, I couldn't figure out anything. But I knew something was fishy. Were they planning to rob something?
No, maybe someone was just playing tricks. You know, lots of scams happen these days. Technology, meant to be a boon, is becoming a headache.
I reached home, got freshened up, and sat in my favourite cosy armchair. I opened the novel I was reading. I started reading, but I couldn’t focus properly. At the back of my mind, the message kept running through.
I read the message again. Let me try cracking this, I thought:
“When the clock hits ten, Monetory opens its heart.”
When the clock hits ten... So it is clear something is going to happen at 10 PM. But what does the second line mean—“Monetory opens its heart”? What is Monetory?
Oh no! Monetory Bank!! It is going to be robbed.
Could that be true? Or am I just overthinking?
Maybe.
I decided to simply ignore it. I went back to reading.
To my dismay, after 5 minutes, the sender deleted the message!
Now, I was sure this was something serious. I needed to act immediately. I was on my heels again. I had made up my mind—I’m going to the police station right now.
I reached the station in 15 minutes. The CI at the station was one of my friends. I went in and told him everything. He said not to worry and that he would enhance the security of the bank.
I reached home. The time was 9:45. I switched on the news. But there was nothing special until 11.
" Big Breaking news !! There was an attempt to break in the Monetory Bank. Burglars who were trying to rob the Monetory Bank escaped. Police couldn't catch them".
Just then , i received an another message from the the same unknown number.
" Well played, the CI is my man. See you soon."
My heart began to race fast.
Just then , i heard a knock on the door
My heart began to race fast.
