    Happy Yoga Day!

Did you know that the word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj,' which means 'to join' or 'to unite'? As per Yogic scriptures, the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with the Universal Consciousness, creating a perfect harmony between the mind, body, and the interconnectedness of all things.

The origins of Yoga can be traced back to the very dawn of civilization. It is a science that predates the formation of religions or belief systems. In the yogic lore, Shiva is revered as the first yogi or Adiyogi, and the first Guru or Adi Guru. Thousands of years ago, on the serene banks of Lake Kantisarovar in the Himalayas, Adiyogi shared his profound knowledge with the legendary Saptarishis, the "seven sages." These sages then carried the wisdom of Yoga to different corners of the world, spreading its transformative power across Asia, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and South America.

It is fascinating to discover the close parallels found between ancient cultures worldwide, as modern scholars have noted. However, it was in India that the yogic system found its fullest expression. One of the sages, Agastya, traversed the Indian subcontinent, shaping a rich cultural tapestry deeply rooted in the yogic way of life.

On this Yoga Day, let us celebrate the timeless wisdom and heritage of Yoga. It offers us a path to reconnect with our true selves, fostering physical and mental well-being, and embracing the interconnectedness of all beings and nature. Take a moment today to honor the ancient sages and their invaluable contributions to this transformative practice.

Join us in celebrating the beauty of Yoga and its profound impact on our lives. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, let us come together in unity and harmony, spreading love, peace, and mindfulness to every corner of the world.

    Namaste! 🙏
