    2. Introduction & Summary

    Ice Breakers:

    • Artisans: Artisans are craftsmen like Goldsmiths, Potters, Carpenters, and Blacksmiths who use traditional techniques to create functional and decorative items.

    • Seasons and Clothes: We need woollen clothes in winter, casual clothes for daily wear, rich silk for weddings, and comfortable cotton for summer.

    Summary:

    "Indian Weavers" by Sarojini Naidu, known as the 'Nightingale of India', is a short, metaphorical poem that depicts the three stages of human life: birth, youth, and death. The poet observes weavers working at three different times of the day, creating three different types of garments.

    In the morning, they weave a bright blue robe for a newborn child, symbolizing the hope and freshness of birth. At fall of night, they weave a vibrant purple and green marriage-veil for a queen, representing the energy and passion of youth/adulthood. Finally, in the dead of the night, they weave a white funeral shroud for a dead man, signifying the stillness and peace of death. Through the changing colors and times, Naidu beautifully captures the inevitable cycle of human existence.

    Part B: Poetic Creativity (2 Marks)

    • Topic 1: Importance of Clothes ->

      Clothes protect us from heat and cold,

      Stories of culture in every fold,

      From the first robe to the final sheet,

      They make our human journey complete.

    • Topic 2: The Busy Weaver ->

      Click-clack goes the rhythmic loom,

      Threads of life across the room,

      Purple, green, and snowy white,

      Woven through the day and night.

    • Topic 3: Use Handloom Products ->

      Wear the threads our brothers spin,

      Let the local craft begin,

      Handloom products, bold and true,

      Woven just for me and you.

    • Topic 4: The Morning Thread ->

      In the rays of early light,

      Weaving robes so blue and bright,

      Welcoming a soul to earth,

      In the glory of its birth.

    • Topic 5: Stillness of Night ->

      Moonlight falls on fingers cold,

      A story of the end is told,

      White as clouds and white as snow,

      Where the silent spirits go.
