He refuses to sell the lotus and instead goes to the place where Buddha is meditating under a banyan tree. Upon seeing the divine radiance and peaceful countenance of the Lord, Sudasa is filled with immense devotion. All his desire for wealth vanishes. He places the priceless lotus at Buddha's feet as an offering. When Buddha asks him what he desires, Sudasa replies that his only wish is for his soul to attain fulfillment by touching the Lord's feet. This story illustrates the transformative power of true devotion, which far outweighs any material wealth.

English Sudasa decided not to sell the lotus after hearing the bidding war between the two wealthy men.
